Chief Deputy Major John Beauchamp of the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office will speak to us about the Sheriff’s office and law enforcement issues in the county.

Thursday, April 18, 7:00 PM

To be determined.  We hope to have a speaker to talk with us about farming in our county and on the Northern Neck.

Thursday, May 16, 7:00 PM

Monty Deihl, Chief of Operations, Omega Protein, will speak to us about Omega’s operations, products, markets, contributions to the area, and other issues related to the menhaden fishing industry.

Our guest speaker is Honorable Robert Pickett, the Northern Neck Soil and Water Conservation District Director who will explain his role as the publicly elected person, serving the people of Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond, and Westmoreland Counties.

The mission of the Soil and Water Conservation District is to promote the stewardship of natural resources through leadership, education, and technical assistance for all resource users and to engender a trusted relationship between the District and these users.

 The Commonwealth of Virginia supports the Northern Neck Soil & Water Conservation District through financial and administrative assistance provided by the Virginia Soil and Water Conservation Board and the Department of Conservation and Recreation.

Mr. Pickett’s talk will be followed by our monthly business meeting.

We are planning to have more speakers from the community including Sheriff Doc Lyons;  Monty Deihl from Omega Protein; and, someone to talk with us about farming in Northumberland County.
