Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is made up of five members, one from each election district. Members are elected on a rotating basis with two members elected in odd years and three in even years. Members serve a four-year term. Members are (in district order):

Constitutional officers

The Constitution of Virginia (Article VII. Local Government) requires five positions — treasurer, sheriff, attorney for the Commonwealth, clerk of the court, and commissioner of revenue — be locally elected. All terms are four years with the exception of the Clerk of the Circuit Court who serves an eight-year term.

Region

Northern Neck Soil and Water Conservation District

The NNSWCD Board is comprised of locally elected and appointed directors to oversee a staff responsible for accomplishing these goals in cooperation with local, state, and federal partners. The NNSWCD has ten (10) Directors and several Associate Directors. Eight (8) Directors are elected, two (2) from each of the Northern Neck counties; two (2) Directors are appointed by the Board, one of which must be a local extension agent. The term of office for Directors is four years and they receive no payment for their services.
