Northumberland Dems: Wittman robbed us

People at Wittman Robbed Us Protest. Holding signs.

Northumberland County Dems joined in the Wittman Robbed Us Protest Saturday, June 7 in Henrico, adding to the tons of voters from across CD1. As the Henrico Dems put it on Facebook, “Folks came from across VA-01 to make some noise, raise some hell, and let Rob Wittman know- his votes have consequences.”

They added, “So. Many. Honks. New friends were made, numbers exchanged, and plans hatched. This is how we flip this district: together, loudly, and unapologetically. And don’t worry, this won’t be the last time we take up space outside his Henrico office.”

What prompted this protest? Again, from the Henrico Dems (on Facebook):

Rep. Rob Wittman just voted yes on the House GOP’s appalling budget bill, an extremist wish list that reads like a blueprint for cruelty. It slashes Medicaid, guts SNAP, defunds education and climate programs, and protects tax breaks for billionaires and giant corporations. And Wittman didn’t just support it. HE CELEBRATED IT!.

This isn’t fiscal responsibility. It’s political sadism wrapped in a spreadsheet.

While working families struggle with childcare costs, housing, and healthcare, Rob Wittman is focused on protecting yachts from taxes and punishing the poor for being poor. He voted for a budget that would leave seniors without care, kids without meals, and communities without critical services, all while pretending he’s doing it for your benefit.

Wittman likes to talk about “Virginia values.” Apparently, those values don’t include compassion, integrity, or economic sanity.

He had a choice. He chose cruelty. He didn’t blink. He didn’t flinch. He chose cruelty. That’s who he is.
