Early voting has started; go vote now

Early voting for Virginia’s Primary election has started and you have until June 14 to take advantage of this option. (Primary Day is Tuesday, June 17) Vote early by going to the Registrar’s (45 Back St, Heathsville).

There are two seats being primaried: Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General. Six Democratic candidates are running for Lt. Gov. and two for Attorney General.

May 27: Last day to register to vote a regular ballot.

May 2: First day of early voting.

May 28: First day of same-day registration for provisional ballot.

June 6: Last day to request an absentee ballot.

June 14: Last day to vote early, in person.

June 17: The June Primary. Polls open 6am - 7pm. Last day to drop off or postmark an absentee ballot.

From the Virginia Department of Elections,

If you register to vote using the Citizen Portal after May 27, 2025, you will not be able to cast your ballot in the June 17, 2025, Primary Election. Same Day Registration begins May 28, 2025.

Same Day registration is only available:

* in-person at the general registrar’s office for your locality

* at your satellite early voting site during the early voting period

* at your precinct on Election Day.
